Product Description

The Development of The Southeastern Bahamas.

During the late 1800 and early 1900 trading between the Islands of the Southeastern Bahamas and other countries like Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, and Dominican Republic was booming and very prosperous for the people in that region. However during the construction of the Panama Canal and the Second World War, agents of those countries came to the Bahamas and promised  the islanders high salaries and good living condition, only to discover in the case of the Panama canal they were deceived.

As a result of this, most of the females moved to Nassau, where they would have been closer to their family, who were working on the farms in America.

At present everything that the people in those southern islands require, comes out of Nassau. This is very expensive and has stifled the development of that region. What I would like to do is re-start trade again in a region that can sell me the same product, cheaper, deliver it to the consumer quicker than is currently being done now. The Bahamas spends over a Billion dollars on goods from countries abroad. I am convince that if some of that money is spent in our region, the development of the southern Bahamas will become a reality.

The Project includes the following :

Planting Short Term Crops: for local  market.

Long Term Crops:  to provide beverages and food products  for local and international markets.

The creation of Industries, to export raw untapped resources in the Bahamas.

The Acquisition of Ships , to  increase trade and commerce in the Caribbean.

The Development of a Port to control the delivery of goods through our archipelago, and our Caribbean Trading Partners..

Incentives from the Government of the Bahamas in regards to Land and exemption from taxes is some of the benefits for the project.

The Project is estimated to cost  $54,000,000.00  for Phase 1.
